Classic Fattoush Salad

Fattoush is one of the most refreshing and flavorful Middle Eastern Salads you ever did try. It’s made with fresh romaine, tomatoes, radishes, mint, parsley, and Persian cucumbers. To take it over the top, it’s tossed and topped with crispy pita croutons and the most simple lemon and olive oil-based vinaigrette with a hint of sweetness from pomegranate molasses and runny honey- the latter completely optional. You’re going to love the simplicity, the marriage of flavors, and that freshness-feel in every single bite. Perfect for hot summer days, or year-round. Bring this different salad to your next potluck or barbecue and watch it disappear.

4 Easy Ways to Reduce Food Waste At Home

As an active home cook and recipe developer, I make a conscious effort to reduce food waste on an everyday basis. But that wasn’t always the case. I’ve come a long way since my days of mindless grocery shopping, having zero concept of food storage and a fridge packed with goods that, more often than not, went bad before I got to them. For me, changing these habits meant making some smalls changes that turned into bigger ones in the long run. This epiphany came one fateful day a few years ago when I was living by myself in a cozy bachelor apartment. I was trying to book a summer holiday and realized I had little to no disposable income. Turns out, I spent far more on takeout than I did on actual groceries. And the groceries I did buy often went to waste. So, I started thinking about how I could save money by putting what I bought to use and preparing quick and healthy meals at home.

Let me ask you- is there anything sweet potato can’t do? This unassuming vegetable has become a clean eating superstar. The one healthy carb that most people opt for, because it’s healthier than it’s white potato counterparts. They’re also very versatile, affordable and fun to work with. All veg qualities you look for. Am I right? Oh, and did I mention- this appetizer or quick dinner idea is total dynamite? Taste-wise, it will engulf you, too. 😉
